With the holiday season quickly approaching on both sides of the border, Reviews Coast Spas though it might be a great time to look at some of the best games that you can get the whole family involved in. While games like Monopoly and Life have been sitting in the closet for years, be honest with yourself and know you are not going to make that mistake again. Here are some games that can either accommodate many players or have the ability to have teams of players to play each other.
The Games
Let’s face it, the games of yesteryear are no longer fun to play anymore. We will not name names, but you know which ones we are talking about. Instead of playing a game that can end up ruining the night, take a look at these and consider adding them to your yearly traditions.
- Codenames – It is not hard to find this game or reviews on it. Groups of people are flocking to this semi-cooperative whodunnit game. A much better version of the television game Password, Codenames has the ability to adapt to much more than 2 vs. 2. Simply use synonyms to convey to your team the identity of the spies that are on your team. Watch out for the civilians!
- Spontuneous – For the music lovers, this game will be the most fun you have ever had. A word is revealed, and it is a race to see who can be the first to sing a song (no talent required) with the word in it.
- Reverse Charades – Forget that boring old Charades and try this game. Instead of just one person acting out the word(s) for the group, this is a group of people acting out the word(s) – hence the “reverse.” Do we really need to explain further?
- Trivial Pursuit – Yeah, yeah, yeah, we said those old tired games are not fun to play anymore. This one is just timeless. Quite often the questions can spark a story from a person about the answer and that is what makes this game a great party game. After all, it is the most fun when we learn about each other.
- Wits and Wagers – This Trivial Pursuit style game is for people like us that often find themselves at the bottom of the barrel in trivia games. This game is more about deciding who you think has a response closest to the right answer. Therefore, you don’t necessarily need to know the answer, you just need to have the ability to guess who might have the right answer.
Closing Time
While we here at Reviews Coast Spas love a good soak in the hot tub, we also like getting the friends and family together for a good old fashion board game night. When you can get a lot of people together, the choices on games does drop a little, but hopefully, you saw a game on our list that has piqued your interest enough to give it a try.
